7 Day Self-Compassion Challenge
Self-compassion encompasses three main themes including self-kindness, common humanity, and mindfulness. These themes are the source of empowerment and growth that will help you manage stress and increase productivity.
Self-kindness is when we express understanding toward ourselves. We tend to use more patience, encouraging words during our inner dialogue as well as kindly acknowledge that we’re doing the best we can.
Common humanity is the acknowledgement that we are human and we are fallible. There are places in our lives that we are still learning to navigate - common humanity is the theme of showing yourself compassion when you don’t get it right as well as showing compassion toward others when they make a mistake.
Mindfulness happens when we cultivate present awareness without judgment, avoidance, or repression. There are many ways to practice mindfulness from meditation to yoga.
Throughout this challenge you will gain more self-awareness, joy, and balance. Take time for yourself to breathe easy and live more mindfully!
Day 1: Self-compassion Meditation
Join me for a self-compassion meditation and then practice free writing afterwards.
Day 2: Putting Yourself First
Learning how to say “yes” to yourself can be challenging. Practice honoring yourself by saying yes! What is something you would like to say no to? What is something you would like to do for yourself?
Day 3: Self-kindness
Cultivate a more positive inner voice. What is challenging you? How can you focus on what you have control over? It’s important that we recognize the things we have control over and the things we cannot control. We can control how we handle a situation - how can you use self-kindness to ease stress during a challenge?
Day 4: Self-Care
Create space for yourself to rejuvenate! What gives you energy?
Day 5: Joyfulness
What brings you joy? Write down 3 things that bring you joy and why.
Day 6: Gratitude
What are you grateful for? Write down 3 things that you’re grateful for.
Day 7: Love letter to yourself
Show yourself some love. Write, paint, or draw yourself a love letter. Get creative and enjoy the process!
